Trial and Adoption Phase Training #4 | IP and Patent Strategy

 

We organised an intellectual property (IP) and patent strategy training session, representatives from the Intellectual Property Department (IPD),  the Hong Kong Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC) and Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) were invited to share insights on how to protect the winning team’s solutions and prepare for future development.

 

Training Highlights:

Patent Three-Step Rule: Experts shared that successful patent applications need three things—technical features, solving a technical problem, and using technical means. 

Patent Application Tips:

Keep your invention confidential before applying, prepare invention details, prior art and scope of protection, plan your budget ahead, check requirements for different regions, do a patent search, and apply at the right time for better results!
