Introduction:
Elderly care facilities face manpower shortage due to an aging population, leading to increased carer workloads and delayed response times. SAFERIN addresses this with three features: 1. Nurse-On-Demand: AI priorities needs and dispatches carers; 2. Smart Guardian Alert: Sensors detect abnormal behaviours; 3. Ez-HealthCare: Analyses health data and aids in care plans. These enhancements ensure timely and appropriate attention for the elderly, improving their quality of life.
The team is arranging the first trial at an elderly care home. Also, the team has successfully integrated a bed exit monitoring sensor into the system, which is designed to alert carers when an elderly attempts to leave the bed unassisted, preventing falls and improving safety.
