Alpha AI: A-IoT Solar Device for Smart Campsite Management

Introduction:

The designated campsites managed by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department face challenges like long-term occupancy, fires, wild pig nuisance, and waste. The AI-driven A-IoT Solar Device solution is designed to track campsite usage, detect rubbish, fires and wild pigs, and assess air quality. With real-time surveillance by portable monitoring stations with visual and non-visual cameras, plus seamless booking system integration, the solution aims to enhance campsite safety, cleanliness, and sustainability while protecting individual’s privacy.

Milestone:

2025-02-05 -Site Selection

Key campsites were identified for pilot deployment based on visitor flow, waste accumulation, and safety risks. The picnic site at Bride’s Pool Road and barbecue site at Lau Shui Heung were chosen for their high traffic and management challenges.

 2025-02-17- Procurement of LiDAR Scanner

The procurement of LiDAR hardware has been successfully completed. After thorough discussions and evaluation, the Unitree L1/L2 sensors were selected based on their alignment with the technical requirements and system compatibility.
